Master bathroom - wallpaper removed. Started the tedious process of removing the sizing. Blech.
Tile removed from entry way
Carpet removed from main living area and boys room
Linoleum removal started in kitchen - Josh said it is going to take forever, it is totally glued down
Kitchen taped to be painted
Breakfast room wallpaper has been removed along with chair rail
Base boards have been removed
Kitchen cabinet doors have been removed, so we can sand and paint them
And...driveway has been power washed, thanks to yours truly dropping a whole gallon of lemon chiffon colored paint for Andy's room and it splatting over the driveway and my car, meaning I had to rinse it off my car and it made a HUGE mess. Thank goodness my Dad was nearby and saved the day!
Now...on to the best part - what we have picked! We have carpet, countertops, and wood floors scheduled to be installed May 24th, between now and then we have to finish everything else...meaning new baseboards, paint ALL walls, re-texture the bathroom, re-texture the breakfast room, tile around fireplace, do backsplash, refinish kitchen cabinets, do board and batten in breakfast room, crown molding, etc etc etc! My Dad and I did a lot earlier in the week and Josh and one of his friends have been working tirelessly since then.
Some of the things on my current wish list...
Restoration Hardware Dragonfly door knocker. I saw a similar one in an episode of the show Parenthood and I fell in love! I am sure I can find a knock off somewhere!
We have purchased the brushed nickel door knobs...but now I just have to figure out what finish/style for the pulls for the kitchen cabinets. They currently do not have any... so now to just deciding what looks/functions best!
